01

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was written in English. To the extent a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version controls.

Unless indicated otherwise, this policy does not apply to third-party products, services, or the practices of companies we do not own or control — including other companies and websites you might interact with through our Services.

This Privacy Policy is governed by and interpreted according to the law of Spain. All disputes arising under it are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts. If any court or competent authority finds any provision invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed deleted to the extent required, without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions.

In this policy, unless the context requires a different interpretation: the singular includes the plural and vice versa, and "including" is understood to mean including without limitation.

Every effort is made to keep our Services running smoothly. However, Competize takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the Services being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.

02

Information we collect

Competize collects Information about you — including Information that directly or indirectly identifies you — when you or other members choose to share it with us (collectively, the "Information"). We also collect Information about how you use our Services.

Account Information

We collect basic account Information such as your User name, email address, date of birth, city, country, role in competitions and password, which helps secure and provide you with access to our Services.

Profile and use

Information is collected about you when you choose to upload a picture or cover photo, or create an athlete profile (including height, weight, position and favourite foot). We also collect Information when you add, follow or join a match, team or competition — including organiser contact details, competition details, match results, player statistics and rankings, team squads, competition fees and payments, sponsor Information, news, and photos.

Your name, profile and cover photos, match, team and competition-related Information, and any other content you share on the Services is publicly viewable on Competize. This may be indexed by search engines and republished elsewhere on the internet in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

We collect and process location Information when you sign up for and use Competize, if you grant us access to your location — you can always remove this access using your web or mobile device settings. We may also derive your approximate location from your IP address.

To help us provide you with the best possible Services, you can choose to provide contact Information so we can better respond to your support requests and comments.

Information posted on behalf of other Users

As a User, you can post personal Information on behalf of others — athletes, coaches, referees, organizers or fans. Before posting someone else's personal Information to Competize, you must inform them about this Privacy Policy and how their Information will be used, and obtain their explicit consent to share it. It is your sole responsibility to prove to us that you have informed such people and obtained their explicit consent.

Payment Information

If you sign up for a Trial, purchase a Paid Subscription, or make other purchases through the Service, your credit or debit card Information (such as card type, expiration date, and certain digits of the card number), PayPal Information, and other financial data needed to process your payment may be collected and stored by us and/or our payment processors. We may also collect limited Information such as your name, mobile number, and transaction history.

If you choose to pay by bank transfer or receive an invoice, Competize may need to collect and store additional Information and provide it to the payment processors we work with.

Cookies, pixels and tracking data

We use cookies, log files, pixel tags, local storage objects and other tracking technologies to automatically collect Information about your interactions — such as searches, page views, date and time of visit, and other Information about your use of the Competize Services.

Before Competize places Cookies on your device, we will request your consent. You may deny consent or delete saved Cookies; however, certain features may not function as intended and you may lose personalisation settings. Competize may place the following Cookies:

  • Improve, personalise and develop the Services
  • Communicate with you
  • Promote safety and security
04

How Information is shared

We do not share your personal Information except in the limited circumstances described below.

Service providers

We may share your Information with third parties who provide services to Competize, such as customer support, information technology, payments, sales, marketing, data analysis, research and surveys. These providers only have access to the Information necessary to perform their limited functions and are required to protect and secure it. We may also engage providers to collect Information about your use of our Services over time so that we or they may promote Competize or display content relevant to your interests, on our Services or elsewhere.

Publicly available Information

Subject to your account settings, your Information and content may be publicly accessible. We cannot and will not be responsible for what third parties do with Information you choose to make publicly available — we advise exercising great care in what you share through the Services. You may also authorize us to share your Information with others, for example Third-Party Accounts such as Facebook and Twitter.

Affiliates and acquirers of our business or assets

Competize may, from time to time, expand or reduce its business, which may involve the sale and/or transfer of control of all or part of Competize. Information relevant to any part of our business acquired will be transferred along with it, and the new owner will be permitted to use it under the terms of this policy, for the purposes for which it was originally supplied. We may also disclose Information to a prospective purchaser. In these instances, we will take steps aimed at protecting your privacy.

Legal requirements

We may preserve and share your Information with third parties — including law enforcement, public or governmental agencies, or private litigants, within or outside your country of residence — where we determine disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, including court orders, warrants, subpoenas or other legal process. We may also retain, preserve or disclose Information where reasonably necessary to prevent death or serious bodily injury, address national security or public-importance issues, prevent or detect violations of our Terms & Conditions or fraud, or protect our operations, property or legal rights, including disclosure to legal counsel and other consultants in connection with actual or potential litigation.

05

Managing your personal Information

You have the right to access, download, rectify or erase your Information, as well as the right to restrict and object to certain processing. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in limited circumstances.

You can delete your data from your account settings at any time. Alternatively, request deletion or alteration by emailing — the message must be sent from the account registered with Competize.

06

Retention of Information

We keep your account Information — name, email address, password and age — for as long as your account exists, because we need it to operate your account. We keep other Information, such as match, team, competition and event data, until you delete it or your account, since we use it to provide you and other users with schedules, results, statistics and other aspects of the Services.

Following deletion of your account, it may take up to 30 days to fully delete your personal Information and system logs from our systems. We may retain Information from deleted accounts for our legitimate business interests, to comply with the law, prevent fraud, collect fees, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce our Terms & Conditions, and take other actions permitted by law.

07

Our policies for children

We take additional measures to protect children's privacy. You must be at least 16 years old, or have parental and/or legal guardian authorization, to create an account. You may only accept this Privacy Policy and become a User of Competize if you guarantee you are over 16, or have previously received parental and/or legal guardian consent — you are solely responsible for obtaining and asserting this.

Competize may contact you to verify your actual age and, if applicable, your parental or guardian consent, which may require a copy of your identification card or other official document. If you do not provide this, Competize may deactivate or cancel your profile, temporarily or permanently.

We do not knowingly collect personal Information from children under 16 without explicit parental consent. However, if your child is registered with a national, state or local sport governing body, club, team, competition, event or other institution (the "Organisation"), that Organisation may provide us with the Information — the Organisation is solely responsible for obtaining and proving parental or guardian consent for sharing and publishing a child's Information.

If we learn that we have collected a child's personal Information without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it as soon as possible. Parents who believe their child or another user has submitted personal Information to us and would like it deleted may contact us at .

08

Our international operations and Information transfers

We operate internationally, with our servers based in Dublin, Ireland. Your Information may be stored, processed in and transferred to other countries with privacy and data protection laws that differ from, and are potentially less protective than, the laws of your own country.

You acknowledge this risk and agree to these data transfers when you create a Competize account and click "I agree" to our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, irrespective of which country you live in.

09

How we protect Information

Data security is of great importance to Competize. To protect your Information we take several measures to safeguard its collection, transmission and storage. The Services use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology to encrypt personal and financial Information.

Although we strive to employ reasonable protections appropriate to its sensitivity, we do not guarantee or warrant the security of Information you share with us, and we are not responsible for the theft, destruction, loss or inadvertent disclosure of your Information or content. No system is 100% secure — transmitting personal Information is done at your own risk.

To help ensure these measures are effective against unauthorized access, you should be aware of the security features available through your browser, and use a security-enabled browser to submit your payment and other personal Information at the Services. If password access is required for certain parts of our Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.

11

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Competize reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time — please review it occasionally. If we make changes, the updated policy will be posted on the Services in a timely manner, and if the changes are material, we will provide a prominent notice.

If you object to any changes to this Privacy Policy, you should stop using the Services and delete your account.
